Overweight Pets - How thick can we stop them?

A study in the April issue of American Journal of Veterinary Research publishes reports that 30 percent of dogs in the United States are overweight or obese. Previous studies have found that this is also for cats.

In the UK the situation is even worse, obese, with an estimated 30 to 60 percent of all dogs and cats.

So it appears that obesity in our pets always as big a problem as obesity in humans. Veterinarians recommend that animals should suffer an increased risk of diabetes,Heart and problems if they are overweight, just as we do.

Like humans, overweight animals will be held partially responsible for the genes and in part for the environment. In the case of our pets, but it seems to be mainly environmental. In other words, we spoil our pets too much to feed the wrong food, snacks and treats them do not need, and not to exercise too little. We killed with his goodness.

Is this really what we want for our pets?

PerhapsIt 'important for us to keep in mind that dogs and cats are carnivores. Their natural diet is mostly meat. If this is not the main ingredient in food that gives your dog or cat and your pet is overweight, then this is something to keep in mind. Check the ingredients of canned food of your pet or dry biscuits. If these foods are high in cereals stop instead of meat, they buy! If you are not convinced that a diet rich in cereals will help your pet 's may be overweight, then consider the following: wheat, because the animals to gain weight for the agricultural market, not because it is their natural diet, but because farmers has long been known that it is the cheapest and most effective way is too fat fast.
